The Baron Empain Palace ("Qasr el Baron", or The Palais Hindou) is a distinctive and historic mansion in Heliopolis, a suburb northeast of central Cairo, Egypt. [1][2]
The palace was designed by French architect Alexandre Marcel[3] and decorated by Georges-Louis Claude. Inspired to the Angkor Wat in Cambodia, it was built between 1907 and 1911, in reinforced concrete.
